OUTLINE
Title of Learning Experience: The Lemonade Stand by M. Beth Arcuri and Sandra D'Onofrio
LEARNING CONTEXT
PROCEDURE
First, the students will complete The Lemonade Stand worksheet in the classroom which introduces them to the interactive game:The Lemonade Stand. Different vocabulary terms, such as producer, operating expenses, and profit will be explained. Two different charts will also be displayed and explained. The students will have to make some decisions and answer some questions using the Weather Forecast and Financial Information Chart and A Daily Report Chart.
After this, the students will go into the computer room and access The Lemonade Stand game on the World Wide Web. The students will play five sessions of the game. They will need to identify how many cups of lemonade to make, the price per cup, and the amount of money to pay for advertising for each day. After Day 5 they will Print out their last Daily Report Chart.
Using the Daily Report Chart, the students will complete a worksheet answering questions about the choices they made as a producer.
INTRUCTIONAL/ENVIRONMENTAL MODIFICATIONS
Type your response here: Instructional modifications were made for all students according to his/her specific needs. Some students needed help reading text , following directions, and keeping on task. Classroom and Computer teachers were available for assistance to the students.
