To instruct students on correct procedures to create PowerPoint presentations.

DECLARATIVE
The students will know what presentation software is.
The students will know how to use PowerPoint to show present information.
The students will know the following terminology:
Menu bar
Application Title bar
Standard, Formatting, and Drawing toolbars
Document Title bar
View buttons
Slide Show
The students will be able to open a PowerPoint presentation and create 4 slides. After completing the slides, the student will be able to save and present the slides as a slide show using the PowerPoint software.

The teacher will describe the PowerPoint presentation software and will demonstrate so students will be able to successful complete the following tasks.
How to start PowerPoint.
Opening a new presentation using PowerPoint.
How to add text to a slide.
How to add a new slide.
Adding graphics to a slide.
Saving the presentation on the LAN.
Closing the presentation so it can be edited.
How to show a slide presentation.
INSTRUCTIONAL/ENVIRONMENTAL MODIFICATIONS
Not applicable.
The LE will take 42 minutes (one class period).
The presentation will be conducted in the computer lab where each student will have access to a computer and the Microsoft PowerPoint software. An Infocus projector will be used to demonstrate procedural knowledge to the students.
ASSESSMENT PLAN

The students will be assessed by demonstrating the following in class under the supervision of the teacher:
Starting the PowerPoint software.
Opening a new presentation.
Adding text to a new slide using the text supplied by the teacher.
Adding a new slide.
Adding a picture or graphic to the new slide.
Adding a new slide and the student will create the text for this slide.
Add a new slide and the student will create the graphic for this slide using one of the sources mentioned in the presentation by the teacher.
Save and close the presentation.
Open the presentation and show the slide show to the teacher.
